Our Vets

Our Vets

Dr Matt Wilson MA Vet MRCVS

I grew up in James Herriot country, rural Yorkshire and was inspired by reading  veterinary novels as a young child. Growing up with cats, dogs and horses sparked a real passion for veterinary medicine. After graduating from Cambridge University in 1991 and spending two years at a mixed practice in Cambridgeshire, I decided to specialise in a small animal practice where I felt I could give the best care, joining the Young Vets team in 1993.

I have two cats which I adopted from the surgery after they came in as strays, Louis, my loyal lovable tabby cat and Mitten, she has a feisty temperament hidden beneath her beauty. She likes to keep both my family and the surgery staff on their toes when she comes to stay!

I have a dedicated interest in all aspects of surgery, including bone and joint surgery (orthopaedics) and regularly perform more complex surgeries such as TTA cruciate (knee) surgeries. My goal with every patient visit is to provide a knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy service, and to ensure that every pet gets the caring treatment (and treats where appropriate!) they deserve.

 Dr Clara Blanco DVM MRCVS

Clara the vet

I am a dedicated veterinarian who graduated from Madrid in 2016. Throughout my academic journey, I realised that surgery was my true calling and I am currently in my final stages of completing a comprehensive surgical certificate program. This additional qualification allows me to bring an advanced level of expertise to the operating room.

Outside of work, I enjoy scuba diving and making culinary creations in the kitchen!

Throughout my years of study and veterinary medicine I have experienced many unforgettable moments including being bitten by a seal, peed on by a lion and being headbutted by a goat – reminding me of the unpredictability and wonder of the animal kingdom!

Dr Amy Windsor MRCVS

I graduated from Bristol University in 2007 and have worked in small animal practice ever since, practicing in London since 2009. I grew up loving all animals with years of little hamsters before having a cat of my own.

I am passionate about small animal medicine, dentistry and pain management in our pets. I prioritise the importance of building trust with our animal clients and their owners.

I live in the Chiswick area with my young family and enjoy being part of the wonderful local community there.

Dr Sophie Crossfield MRCVS

Following my graduation from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020, I went on to work at a small animal practice in East Sussex. Now, after relocating to West London, I have found myself at Young's!

Growing up I had a variety of pets, from small mammals to horses! From a young age I had my sights set on becoming a vet, after experiencing my own pets requiring treatment and feeling in awe of the vets providing their care.

I am enjoying all aspects of general practice, and particularly enjoying our feline companions, making their experiences with us as calm and stress free as possible. In my free time I enjoy spending time outside, either walking or running, as well as baking for friends and family!

Dr Nicki Purser MRCVS

Nicky graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2012 and worked for 5 years in Australia before relocating to the UK. She has worked all over the UK, from Newcastle to Cornwall, before finally settling in London. She has always had a passion for animals and attempted to save every helpless or injured animal that came her way as a child. It seemed inevitable that she would end up in this profession. That may explain the 5 cats her family own back in Australia, ranging from a three-legged Ragdoll to a Maine Coon with deformed elbows.

Nicky's passions in the veterinary industry includes Small Animal Surgery, and she hopes to complete an Advanced Certificate in this area to hone her skills. She also loves facilitating the bond between owner and pet, and takes great satisfaction in developing good rapport with clients and their furbabies. One of the highlights of her career will always be delivering multiple puppies and kittens by caesarean section when she worked for a busy breeding clinic in Australia. During one such procedure, Nicky was delivering puppies by caesarean and she realised part way through the surgery that she had, in fact, delivered the mother by caesarean a few years earlier - that was magical.

Dr Lauren Sullivan MA VetMB MRCVS

I've always had a love of animals, from working in a farm park to all sorts of pets of my own. These experiences along with the variety of each day being different led me to Cambridge University where I recently graduated from. I want to work together with pets and owners to provide the best care and support for all creatures that come through the surgery doors. Outside of work I enjoy playing netball and walking my dog in the countryside with my family.

Dr Marta Stawska MRCVS

After finishing high school in Poland I embarked on a solo journey to the UK to become a vet. I graduated in 2022 from the University of Surrey and then landed a position at Youngs. I have a keen interest and (not so secret) soft spot for all things feline, which also led me to my recent adoption of Francis, a beautiful young cat who was left on the doorstep of one of our practices with her 3 kittens.

As a new graduate I'm still discovering my further interests within the field, but I've been hugely enjoying the surgical aspect and I am keen to continue developing in this direction. Outside of work I spend my free time with friends at various music events and small gigs.

Dr Elan Daniels MA VetMB MRCVS

I graduated from Cambridge University in 2022 and working with Young’s is one of my first jobs. I grew up in rural Wales and have had a variety of different pets from chickens, rabbits, koi to our most recent addition - a Cockapoo, who is certainly the boss of the household! I love the variety that being a vet offers which means there’s never a dull moment! In my spare time I am a keen runner and also enjoy travelling to new countries.

Dr Vittoria Lodigiani dvm MRCVS

Since gaining my veterinary qualifications at Milan University, I have worked across various general practice, soft tissue and oncology centers in both Italy and Milan. I have a keen interest in soft tissue and do hope to pursue this further now I am in London.

I was inspired to work with animals following five years of volunteering at a local animal shelter during high school. During my time volunteering I enjoyed building relationships with patients, ensuring they were as comfortable as possible during their stay. I hope to volunteer again in future, in another country where the strays are less fortunate and veterinary access in limited.

Dr Georgina Catchpole  MRCVS

I have recently graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and am thrilled to have joined the team at Young Vets.

I have grown up with all manner of pets, most memorably having hand raised four ducklings who ruled the house - sleeping in the kitchen and swimming in the bath!

I am passionate about providing the best care for every patient and building great client relationships. I am enjoying all aspects of veterinary medicine currently, but am excited to discovery my niche areas of interest in the future.

Outside of work I enjoy swimming, cooking and travelling.

We honestly cannot thank you enough for the excellent treatment and help you have given us with our dog Max. Since having his operation he has been like our “old Max” again.
